Here is a gorgeous review made from one of our collaborators, Ravi Sidhu. A passionate cigar aficionado that will give you his take on this superb habanos. Enjoy the read!

Introduction

I have wanted to do this review for quite some time. This has been my favorite cigar so far this year, as it literally ticks all of my boxes. I love the mild flavors, love the ring gauge, and love the overall size and feel of the cigar. It is also a great “bang for your buck” cigar coming in around $40 CAD. I detest a tight cigar, and I have yet to smoke one of these cigars that are difficult to draw.

Before lighting and throughout the 1st third, it has a slight woody, cedar like aroma and I got a little twinge honey/sweetness to it as well. There was also a light minty/cool aspect to it on first draw, which I love. It basically drew (pun unintended) in and hooked me right away.

I do not like bold and heavy smoke, but this cigar is right in line with my flavor profile. Smoke is light, and tasty, however there is a little bit of a bite to it at the end. There is definitely some spiciness at the end of the first third where I got some hints of white pepper, and tabasco.

2nd third is where this one got really complex for me. I get hints of coffee, some earthy vegetables, and the pepperiness becomes a constant. What I really like about this cigar is how clean and crisp it tastes, and how little aftertaste there was. Maybe it was because I was sitting outside and there could have been someone bbqing nearby, but I got a hint of campfire. Oddly though, I got an earthy vegetable note. It is like biting into celery, but towards the bottom of the stalk.

The 3rd is a lot spicier and the pepperiness is pretty dominant, but I still got this cool finish which left me wanting more. This was the most difficult part of the cigar for me, but at the same time, it was not strong enough for me to want to stop smoking.

Conclusion

Overall, this cigar is exactly what I like. I am not fighting the draw, and the overall flavors are very balanced with each other. I have smoked some cigars that I wanted to put down a long way before finishing them, but this one is not one of them. I hardly put this cigar down, and hate when it is over. If you like light, yet flavorful, large ring gauge cigars this is definitely the one for you.

  1. Ravi I’m smoking my first one tonight, just came in yesterday but nothing to not like about this one! The Hoyo’s are my favorite by far and this one just confirms it! Ordered ten, so I’ll let the rest set up in my humi for awhile, but no regrets lighting this one. Just an outstanding Cubano treat! I tend to prefer a smaller stick, so I don’t know if I’ll make it to the end. But I have a feeling I’ll wind up agreeing with you, good to the last puff. It’s Friday night, so I have time to kick back and enjoy the rest! Thanks for your outstanding review of this outstanding smoke#

    1. Thank you Kevin for your feedback and for trying out that cigar. Don’t be shy to let those rest and age a few years.
      Happy you enjoyed the smoke!
