Since 2003, Habanos has been including Reserva cigars into their portfolio, and Gran Reserva cigars since 2009. The initial Gran Reserva was the Cohiba Siglo VI Gran Reserva in 2009. It remains the most sought after by both collectors who smoke, and collectors who use cigars as an investment. It is rumored that one collector has over 100 boxes in his collection.
The Gran Reserva cigars come in boxes of 15, limited to 5000 boxes produced. The tobacco is aged for a minimum of 5 years.

The latest cigar in this exclusive club is from a vitola that is a personal favorite, with which that admiration is widely shared in the cigar community. The Hoyo De Monterrey iconic Double Corona, now finally available as a Gran Reserva cigar. The Cosecha (means harvest) is from 2013. So the tobacco has been aged 5 years, with approximately an extra year for the cigars to have been rolled, and then proceed to spend some time in the “escaparate” room.
