Davidoff Year Of The Rabbit release. + Complete list of Davidoff Zodiac releases.

Davidoff has been creating special cigars to commemorate Chinese New Year since 2012.  Known as the Zodiac Series, the latest entry for 2023 is 2 new cigars to commemorate the Year of the Rabbit – a perfecto (54 x 5 15/16) and a toro (5 x 6). Both formats have identical blends and are made with tobacco sourced from several different regions.  The filler contains Yamasa visus, San Vincente ligero and seco and Piloto seco from the Dominican Republic along with Esteli seco from Nicaragua.  The binder is Negro San Andres seco from Mexico and it is all wrapped up in Hybrid 238 leaf from Ecuador. As described by Davidoff, this medium intensity vitola starts with flavours of cream, roasted nuts and peppers; evolves into notes of leather coffee and caramel and finishes with cacao, cedar wood and fresh spices.

The perfecto is available in intriguing boxes of 10, with interlocking sections inspired by rabbit warrens. 19 200 in total have been created.

The toro is available in 2 formats: handsome boxes of 24 containing 3 stackable shelves of 8 cigars each and limited to an availability of 600.  And for those lucky enough to get their hands on them, Davidoff has commissioned French artist Rose Saneuil and luxury craft company Moevus to create a special humidor.

Made of walnut and anigre in the interior, and equipped with 4 Davidoff regulators, removable tray and a gold-plated handle, the lid is adorned with a beautiful multi-layered and multi coloured rabbit icon designed and created by Saneuil using marquetry and several different woods. The treasure contained inside these elegant pieces is 88 gran toros. Only 25 will be available worldwide.

For the completist, the collection is rounded out with an ashtray, cutter and pipe.

2014 :: Davidoff Limited Edition Year of the Horse.  Box of 9.  Size 60 x 6.  Quantities produced:  5,000 boxes for a total of 45,000 cigars.

2015 :: Davidoff Limited Edition Year of the Sheep.  Box of 8.  Size 54 x 6 1/4.  Quantities produced:  3,000 boxes for a total of 24,000 cigars.

2016 :: Davidoff Limited Edition Year of the Monkey.  Box of 10.  Size 50 x 6 1/2.  Quantities produced:  3,000 boxes for a total of 30,000 cigars.

2017 :: Davidoff Limited Edition Year of the Rooster.  Box of 10.  Size 50 x 6 3/4.  Quantities produced:  8,000 boxes for a total of 80,000 cigars.

2018 :: Davidoff Limited Edition Year of the Dog.  Box of 10.  Size 50 x 7.  Quantities produced:  4,500 boxes for a total of 45,000 cigars.

2019 :: Davidoff Limited Edition Year of the Pig.  Box of 10.  Size 56 x 6.  Quantities produced:  9,300 boxes for a total of 93,000 cigars.

2020 :: Davidoff Limited Edition Year of the Rat.  Box of 10.  Size 52 x 6.  Quantities produced:  10,000 boxes for a total of 100,000 cigars.

2021 :: Davidoff Limited Edition Year of the Ox.  Box of 10.  Size 60 x 6. Quantities produced: 13,500 boxes of 10 for a total of 135,000 cigars.

2022 :: Davidoff Limited Edition Year of the Tiger.  Box of 10.  Size 52 x 5. Quantities produced: 17,350 boxes of 10 for a total of 173,500 cigars.

2023 :: Davidoff Limited Edition Year of the Rabbit.
