For many, the highlight and most anticipated event of the annual Habanos Festival is the humidor auction that takes place during the closing Gala dinner. This year, the evening was dedicated to the Partagas Maduro line. Each humidor is a work of art, and would enhance any room that it is featured in. They are hand made and consist of regular production as well as cigars no longer in production. Below are photos of each humidor, with the list of cigars each contains. Note that these humidors stand about as tall as an an average height person!
The bidding for these humidors typically starts at approximately 80,000 Euros. The Cohiba humidor has been the one that annually collects the highest amounts. This year, the Cohiba humidor fetched 340,000 Euros, while the others sell for anywhere between 115,000 to 300,000 Euros. Habanos S.A. reported that 1,485,000 Euros was collected this year, of which the bulk goes to the Cuban Health Care system.
